Since the mid-2000s, Da Cruz has left his own personal mark in the 19th arrondissement of Paris in his native Ourcq district. For years, he has been coordinating a monumental fresco, a support for the development of his own work but also a place for artistic exchange and collaboration. His numerous travels to South America, particularly Brazil, Africa and Asia are a source of perpetually effervescent creativity for Da Cruz. The confrontation with ancestral cultures (the masks of pre-Columbian cultures particularly marked him) forged in him a primitive, colorful urban style specific to street culture. This approach in urban space finds a correspondence in his paintings which have now acquired a certain maturity. Da Cruz reflects well the aspirations of the contemporary urban scene which is evolving graffiti and street art towards contemporary art. Text by Arnaud OLIVEUX
