Ardif is a French street artist of Parisian origin. During his architectural studies, he became interested in the aesthetics of buildings and machines at different scales. Today, his work explores possible hybridizations between architecture/machine and nature in the broad sense. His “Mechanimals” series is the illustration of this graphic universe and can be seen on the walls of different French and European cities. The natural symmetry of the animal or human body allows for a composition that plays on the contrast of materials, scales and textures. This urban fauna creates a contrast which questions us about the impact of the artificialization of nature or, conversely, of the wild and primitive instinct to be found in our urban life.
