/// Biography of ENSEMBLE REEL ///
Behind the pseudonym Ensemble Réel hide two brothers: Hugues and Medy. Having grown up in Ris-Orangis (91) with a father who was a sculptor and a mother who was passionate about manual work, they were immersed in a rich and diverse cultural universe, visiting the capital's museums and regional exhibitions. It was in this context that the brothers began drawing and painting on their own. During adolescence, this initially recreational practice evolved into a real passion with the discovery of graffiti and spray painting. It was in 2017 that the idea of collective works led to the birth of the duo Ensemble Réel. From then on, Hugues and Medy launched a four-handed production; their two universes bringing nuances and stories to each other. Their works in the studio integrate different recycled materials and are constantly enriched with new technical and artistic research. Recently, they have focused their work on the fragment, seeking to strengthen and sublimate the sometimes difficult life journeys that make us up. Ensemble Réel has participated in collective and individual exhibitions, festivals and participatory urban planning projects. Their latest immersive exhibition in the crypt of the Madeleine church in Paris was particularly noted with interactive installations and their large ten-meter-long wall outside the Madeleine.
