Jean-charles decoudun
Born in Paris in 1962, grandson of the painter and illustrator Jean-Paul Decoudun, he will not listen to anybody's advice and therefore will not attend any school.
His first exhibitions took place at the Frossard workshop, in the village of Batignolles in Paris in 1994. He exhibited all over France, and in 1997, begins to exhibit to Galerie Roussard, at the top of the Butte Montmartre.
Lover of his city, Paris, she is the great source of inspiration for Jean-Charles Decoudun, who always sees it on the scale of a village. This is due to the fact that he does not draw the portrait in its entirety but breaks it down into as many landscapes as there are neighborhoods in Paris. And you really have to know Paris very well to know that there is a life of neighborhood! Without denying the reality of Paris, his subway, his crowd, his cars, he represents it in a joyous and colorful city. The people, in the watercolors of Decoudun, are dressed in colorful colors, as if they were the signature of the painter. Jean-Charles likes to say that people and places are one, it is the whole that creates the landscape.
His style is unique, precise and technic. His compositions arrive at a perfect balance between the sweetness required by watercolor and the wide range of colors Jean-Charles Decoudun.
