Claude Jousset was born in 1935 in Montmartre.
Classically trained, he studied at the School of Arts Appliqués and was as a friend and a student of the painter Lucien Terny at the Académie Julian.
He started making numerous decorations for restaurants and Parisian cafés, answering a long-standing tradition.
While he was painting canvases for several years for himself, in 1963, he decided to participate in his first Salon. His landscapes quickly has been very successful and Claude Jousset made many exhibitions. He received numerous prizes including the 1st prize Salon des artistes français in 1967. He started to work with galleries in Paris, London and Vienna.
His favorite subject : landscape and Paris. He loves to paint the French countryside, the seaside in Normandy, or the Venice lagoon ... His works, a strong and robust drawing, are mornings soft and bright colors sometimes unreal, Claude Jousset is defining himself as «painter of poetic reality.»
The Aiguille du Midi (translates literally as Needle of the South) is a mountain in the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps.
